We’re busy as ever around here preparing for reopening and are SO excited to welcome students back. Unfortunately, there has been some delay in the construction of our new expanded space and we do not have approval to occupy it quite yet. The space is absolutely beautiful and it’s going to be ready very soon…but there is a bit of work remaining, so the Town has not signed off on occupancy.
As you know, we are relying on the new space to provide the square footage we need to distance everyone, and we need it to reopen safely. Therefore, we have decided to delay the first day of school until Tuesday, September 15, 2020 so that we can be sure that we have sufficient time to fully implement all precautions and procedures and ensure that staff are fully trained and ready to welcome students onsite.
We have attached an updated 2020-2021 school calendar here. The delay is easily accommodated by extending the school year by four days in June and the revised calendar complies with all guidance from the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
We thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigate these very crazy times and cannot wait to welcome everyone back!
