Map Academy Charter School helps youth find their way with individualized roadmaps designed to promote success in students for whom traditional school has not worked. Student-centered academics, a highly supportive culture, and career development opportunities equip students with the knowledge, mindsets, and skills to meet the high standards necessary for postsecondary education and meaningful employment.
I want to participate in the Map Academy Charter School lottery for 2018-19. If selected in the lottery, I will enroll in Map Academy, a free public high school. I understand names are drawn at random for any open seats. Lotteries are public and are held several times during the year. Names not chosen for the open seats will be placed in order on a waiting list. I agree that after the lottery, if selected for admission, past and future academic and medical records may be confidentially obtained from my past schools. This information will not influence the lottery.
Map Academy Charter School does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, creed, sex, gender identity, ethnicity, sexual orientation, mental or physical disability, age, ancestry, athletic performance, special need, proficiency in the English language or a foreign language, or prior academic achievement. Any and all information requested in the application, such as language spoken at home or race/ethnicity, is not intended and will not be used to discriminate. G.L. c. 71, § 89(m); 603 CMR 1.05(2).
For applicants who are not admitted, Map Academy will retain the application and all information submitted with the application as a temporary student record for three years after the applicant’s name is no longer on the waitlist. All applicants not admitted have the right to receive a copy of the documents to be destroyed in accordance with this policy.
